Antares is a leading global provider of trusted (re)insurance solutions. We have an exciting opportunity for a high calibre tax specialist to join our Finance function.
This is a key role in our tax team supporting Head of Tax in tax advisory and tax compliance work across the Antares group of companies, including Corporate Income Taxes, DPT, VAT, IPT and transfer pricing. Providing tax support in all Antares Global projects. Responsible for all filing and administration in relation to tax matters.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Tax or Accounting qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA)
- Expert knowledge of direct and indirect tax and VAT
- Experience of working on a broad spectrum of taxes within practice or in-house Financial Services industry
- International tax experience including CFCs, DPT, withholding taxes and transfer pricing
- Lloyd’s insurance experience preferred
Day to day duties include:
- Responsible for oversight and review of income tax return completion (outsourced) including all related analysis and support.
- Review tax workings for and disclosures for quarterly and statutory Corporate income tax reporting to ensure they are accurate and comply with the reporting requirements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Review of VAT, IPT and withholding tax matters, including coordination with third party professional advisors where applicable for UK and international subsidiaries
- Assist with support for the group capital structure and operating structure, considering transfer pricing, DPT and cost allocation, and ensuring associated supporting documentation, policies and procedures are maintained.
- Review of UK and International subsidiary VAT returns, including working with the Head of Tax to implement updated partial exemption special methodology (PESM) into existing VAT reporting processes.
- Support the group’s internal and external M&A strategy, including assisting the Head of Tax with acquisitions, mergers and restructuring projects.
- Collaboration with existing tax manager on tax matters across MENA operations
