Our Underwriting team in Singapore are looking to hire an Assistant Underwriter – Cargo & Energy. In this role you will work alongside a collaborative team of senior underwriters, getting exposure to large risks spread around the region. We are seeking an individual who has some insurance experience ideally from an Underwriting/ Underwriting Operations/ Broking/ Broking Operations/ Claims /Claims operations background and keen to learn underwriting for Energy and Cargo. The role presents a chance to work for a closely knit syndicate with flat operating structure.

Knowledge and Experience:
- Undergraduate Degree/Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the insurance market
- Proficiency in Microsoft programmes, particularly Excel
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Chinese language skills (written or verbal) would be advantageous
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Day to Day duties include:
- Learn the intricacies of each of the lines of business by supporting the Senior Underwriter in:
- End-to-end underwriting, encompassing underwriting narrative, completing underwriting decision tools, underwriting support systems
- End-to-end underwriting operations including the preparation of inputs for management reporting and interactions with the Underwriting Services team, Finance, Credit Control and other internal stakeholders
- To work on tasks or opportunities as assigned by the Reporting Manager or Senior Management
- Join the Senior Underwriter in Broker and Client meetings and account discussions.
