Head of Capital Modelling
London | 22 Nov 2024

There is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Capital Modelling to join our growing team.

This role will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of models, it offers a dynamic and stimulating environment, and immense personal and professional satisfaction. As Head of Capital, you’ll play a critical role in driving the long-term success of the organisation. You’ll lead a talented team of ten, working in a supportive and productive environment that values exceptional standards alongside professional growth and work-life balance. This role provides significant autonomy, encouraging creative thinking and out-of-the-box solutions.

You’ll collaborate closely with key stakeholders across various departments, including Reserving, Risk, Exposure Management, Catastrophe Modelling, R&D, Investments, Ceded Reinsurance, and Underwriting. This will also involve working closely with senior leaders such as Entity CEOs, CUOs, and Chief Actuaries.

Capital Modelling reports into the Chief Technical Officer (previously Head of Capital), who is committed to leveraging Capital Modelling to drive strategic decision-making. The department’s strong track record and reputation drives a high-level of engagement from the Executive Team, and strong demand for Capital modelling insights.

Exposure Management, Catastrophe Modelling, and R&D also report into the Chief Technical Officer. This centralised structure fosters strong collaboration and enables dedicated R&D support for Capital Modelling.

Capital modelling is already integrated into various business processes, but there’s significant potential for further expansion. Recent initiatives, such as the formation of a Reinsurance Group, have elevated the role of capital modelling in reinsurance purchasing decisions. The Reinsurance Group, led by the CTO, CEO, and CUO, will utilise the capital model to inform all outward reinsurance purchasing decisions for the Antares Group. Additionally, a new initiative is underway to further centralise the capital model in risk appetite monitoring and setting, aligning with a ‘Willingness to Lose’ approach.

This is a high-impact role that offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference and shape the future of the company. If you’re a talented and motivated individual with a passion for capital modelling, we encourage you to apply.
