Senior Catastrophe Modeller

To assist the Natural Catastrophe Modelling Team to provide an effective Catastrophe Modelling function for Antares Global Services Limited with specific responsibility for designated accounts.    

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master‘s degree in a quantitative subject, natural sciences or engineering
  • AIR Touchstone or Risklink, user with good knowledge of some areas of the cat model
  • SQL, good understanding
  • Other software/tools: excellent grasp of workings and methodology (level of understanding relevant to amount of usage)
  • Good understanding of the general insurance market
  • Basic knowledge of end-to-end workflow for all classes of business including property, cargo, specie, marine, agriculture etc. underwritten by Antares Global entities

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of catastrophe modelling results
  • Engaging with stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data input and to discuss and explain model output
  • Ensure Data Quality
  • Keep relevant workflows updated
  • Review modelled accounts
  • Model the larger and more complex cedants as necessary
  • Encourage further analytics (added value) to be undertaken to gain a deeper understanding of the cedants portfolios
  • Collect data on unfolding events and develop a view of loss over multiple platforms
  • Work with AIR deliverables to model losses
  • Update all the relevant processes to reflect the new view of risk
  • Support to ensure the portfolio is re-run in a timely fashion
  • Contribute to developing a view of risk by providing insight and modelling any necessary accounts
  • Delivery of information, analysis, or reports for ad-hoc or regulatory requests
  • Be proactive in learning more about complex RI structures and how best to model them in Tyche
  • Learn from the actuarial and underwriting teams and in turn, improve the functionality and deliverables of the natural catastrophe modelling team
  • Contribute to projects, such as modelling assumptions, internal tools, processes, and view of risk
  • Support Assistant/Cat Modellers
